It's the 5th day of Toni's Christmas Spectacular Blog Hop and I'm having so much fun sharing with you guys! I've had the pleasure of getting to know Toni and some of the other bloggers by reading their posts and following them on Twitter so I'm really super stoked that I decided to join in on this. :)
Today's prompt is about Christmas traditions. I'm not at all sure we really have any traditions as a couple. Last year we didn't open a small gift on Christmas Eve and we were alone because we were living in North Carolina at the time. I know that Evan's family usually has a kickass Christmas Eve family party/get together and I'm very much looking forward to attending. And that the typical family feast is essentially lasagna instead of turkey or ham.
I guess the only thing that remains the same for me and my family is when I go to my dad's. I'm ALWAYS the elf at Christmastime, whether it's wrapping all the gifts they buy or standing by the tree to dish out all the Christmas goodies. It's always nice to get in a little exercise! ;)
One of MY traditions would have to be watching all the classic Christmas movies on ABC Family. I never miss them. Ever. And shockingly I don't own them on DVD but I hope to change that over the next few years. When we have children I hope that they end up loving these movies just as much as I do!
I know growing up there were all kinds of traditions: picking out the Christmas tree, visiting Santa, watching the movies, decorating the house together, various family functions, leaving out cookies and milk, opening a gift on Christmas Eve, etc. You get the idea. Obviously they changed over the years as my siblings and I aged. I can't wait to have kids because I do miss some of these things so definitely looking forward to the future!
I'd love to hear about your traditions!! And make sure you stop by Toni's blog because she's super awesome and this blog hop is a lot of fun.
